So Do You Feel Lucky Punk? Do Ya?

It used to be that, if you were lucky, you could throw up a web site, optimize it with some basic coding and BOOM! your site could rank for your chosen keyword or phrase. There’s no such thing as luck in SEO today!
The simple fact is that these days Google ( and if any site I build ranks well on Google I know it will probably rank even higher on Yahoo and Bing MSN) works much smarter. They don’t hire those super brainy boffins for no reason.
But that doesn’t mean it’s not still pretty easy to rank on page #1 of Google provided:
You research and choose a sensible Keyword Phrase to optimize your site or page for- Choose keywords that don’t have excessive competition
- You use basic SEO techniques i.e. proper use of Meta Tags
- You get an ongoing back-linking campaign going
- You use Web 2.0 marketing techniques (BIG!)
- You add content regularly (debatable)
- Monitor your competition
- Where relevant get into Local Search
I’ll break these bullet (!) points down into separate ‘How To’ style posts soon but a good way to get the ball rolling would be to put into practise the SEOptimum 31 Day ‘Re-Animator’ daily To Do Action Plan.
You can get access to that for free over there in the right hand side bar >>>
